A dashboard can become a wall of numbers when every measure is treated as equally important. Strong operating systems separate activity metrics from quality, capacity, and outcome signals.
Each metric needs a definition, owner, review cadence, and action threshold. Without these, teams may spend more time debating the number than improving the work behind it.
A smaller set of well-governed metrics usually leads to better conversations than a large dashboard with unclear interpretation.
