Build SOPs People Use

A useful SOP is short enough to follow, specific enough to reduce ambiguity, and owned enough to stay current.

Many SOPs become static archives because they are written for completeness instead of use. A useful SOP starts with a clear trigger, a named owner, a definition of done, and the most common exceptions.

Teams should treat SOPs as operating assets, not one-time writing projects. Review dates, version notes, and feedback links make it easier to keep procedures current.
